I used these for a special project where the flat end is inserted into a cedar ball by using a drill press to make a pilot hole in the ball and then slowly spin the screw into the pre-drilled hole. Well, 2 or 3 of these screws (out 20 in the package) are slightly bent and would not go into the hole straight, so basically lost 10% of the screws due to the imperfection. Quite a few of them were kind of dull at the sharp end, making the installation by had a little difficult. Also, the flat end doesn't have the star shaped hole as shown in some of the advertising pictures.

I used these as mounts for hanging patriotic bunting in July and over-sized ornaments in December around my porch. They were easy to install and allow me to use wing nuts to hold the items in place.
