I should have known better when the actual metal isn't listed and instead the description says "Carbon steel construction with zinc plated, high hardness." It's somewhere between butter and plastic in terms of hardness. It strips even when using hand-tools rather than power tools.The only way I was able to use these (after throwing the first few stripped ones away) was to pre-drill at a much higher gauge than is recommended for a hanger bolt installation. I would never recommend these to anyone, they're so poorly made and out of extremely weak material.
