Bought one to separate the ball joint from the lower control arm and was pleasantly surprised how well it worked. No more using my pickle fork and sledge hammer!

Worked really well on my 99 540. Did my control arms with no problem. My 01 325 pictured here, I stripped the threads out. The difference was use. If your patient and tighten it, lube it, tap it etc. You end up with no problem like the first instance. If you go at it with an impact hoping you'll overpower the part you'll strip it like the second case.
