Note:
1. Please lubricate the o-ring with silicon grease and use wrench provided to prevent leakage. you may search "big whole house water filter " on YouTube, there is some video about this housing, it is very helpful if it is the first time to install it.
2. Protect filter housing from freezing.
3. This filter housing has a maximum operating pressure rating of 90 psi, if you suspect that your water pressure will at any time exceed 60 psi, a pressure regulator MUST BE INSTALLED before the filter housing. it is recommended that the pressure regulator be set at 60 psi or less.
4. The rubber o-ring provides the water tight seal between the cap and the sump. it is important that the o-ring be properly SEATED IN THE GROOVE to prevent a water leak could occur. below is more options for matched filter cartridges and similar size housing:

Using for about a year now. Not sure how anyone could be satisfied with the opaque filter body offered by competitors. With this product, I can see the debris buildup and then clean at appropriate intervals. This housing fits a multitude of 4.5"x10" readily available filters. Use food grade silicon on the rubber ring to seal when installing a new/cleaned filter. If your filter is orange from rust, you can try soaking it in an oxalic acid solution after a good rinse to remove the stains.

Installed yesterday.Pros:Clear housing can see filter.Cheap compared to other name brands.Brass inlet and outlet 1" npt filterHousing bracket and wrench comes withConsCheck the pressure rating of your system. This one maxes out at 90 psi but doesn't want more than 60 sustained.Single O ring system on the filter instead of higher end brands using double O ring because of this you have to torque the filter housing on their fairly decent so it doesn't leak unlike double O ring ones that you can hand tighten.We shall see how it holds up for longevity but should be good.

I added a secondary filter for the whole house, due to the fact we are on a well and, the water always had a bit of a fowl smell to it. It appears to have gotten rid of it as soon as we added it on. Great product. Easy to install.

Après 6 mois d'utilisation le bol s'est fissuré grandement tout seul. Cela a conduit à une inondation du garage car nous étions absents. Je ne recommande pas ce produit car le bol est fragile, non fiable et dangereux car peut causer une inondation. 1. Seller Approved return of defective unit, but asked me to pay for return postage. It is unreasonable to ask the buyer to pay for return shipping when the product is defective. This thing is heavy and expensive to ship, not to mention a trip to the post office.2. The product I received has 2 defects and one missing part. 1. The container/housing is not even close to round. The shape was badly deformed on one side as showed in one of the picture. 2. The center tube is also not round. The gasket mentioned in the yellow warning label was not included!3. I tried to contact the seller twice over the course of 1 week but did not receive a response.I also made a mistake by ordering 2 more filters right after I requested to return this defective filter. Now, I am stuck with 3 filters!I have absolutely no confidence on the quality of these product after reading other reviews (I didn't read them when I bought it).

we had a problem with the product leaking, and initially thought we would have to return this item. After we contacted the seller, we were able to stop the leak. We did ask the seller if we could order some replacement o rings as we thought that the o ring (gasket) was defective. Within a few hours, I received a response that the seller was going to send us 3 replacement gaskets.What terrific service! Thank you very much!

Some of the things I liked about this filter are that it's very simple to install and easy to change the filter. It has reinforced threaded sleeves on the inlet and Outlet ports. It has a thick canister that's crystal clear, thicker than a lot of other brands. The cogs that are molded into the outer part of the canister are thick and numerous compared to other brands. That allows for a more sturdy grip on the canister when using the canister wrench. This kit comes with the canister wrench. I also like the fact that it doesn't have any valves built in except for the air pressure relief valve on the top. Previously I had a Culligan filter that had a built-in shut off and bypass valve. That filter leaked at the center of the valve itself and sprayed everywhere. That's when it was new right out of the box. The bracket supplied with this filter is a very strong steel bracket that is easy to install. The silicone o-ring is a little thicker than most of the other brands of this size. I have owned other brands before this one. In my opinion this one threads on easier than my previous canisters. This canister system seems to be built very sturdy and with no unneeded bells, buttons or whistles. I did put a ballcock types shut off in front of the filter itself. Not having a built-in shut off valve means that if the shut-off valve ever goes bad I don't have to replace the whole filtration system. I installed this filtration system as the first in a door filter system for my home. I have a 50 micron filter as the primary filter for the water for the entire house. The second filter is also a big geekpure filter. This one is strictly for my ice maker and my cold water side of my kitchen faucet that supplies drinking my drinking water.This filter is a 5 micron filter with coconut fibers. It to give the water a pleasurable taste. I think that it works perfect for this application. I get clean filtered ice cubes, clean cold filtered water in the door of the refrigerator and clean filtered water out of the kitchen faucet. That's perfect for my coffee,tea. My 3 cats and dog love the taste of the water that comes out of the filter. I would definitely recommend this filtration system. I've had many different systems in the past and this is the best.

Nice filter housing, the O rings that come with it break easily I'd recommend having replacements on hand. I found the best water tight install was with PVC fittings connected directly to the housing. this is a pretty straight forward unit to install and the package included all necessary parts.

This goes in like any big blue unit. The clear canister is nice for checking dirty filter status. I used a brass 1"-3/4" adapter to hook it up and it originally leaked. It tightened it down as much as I felt comfortable with and it continued to leak. I uninstalled, used a little extra teflon tape and the problem went away. Even then I tightened a little more than you might expect with a brass fitting. The unit has no odor and hasn't affect taste - I'm not really sure why that would be a problem for any unit. Taste is more likely affected by the cartridge that you put in it. Overall I'm happy and I would buy it again.
